Setting the course for the future
After 35 years at the helm of his iconic morning show, 104.6 RTL radio presenter Arno Müller is handing over the microphone in summer 2026.

RTL Deutschland’s Berlin-based radio station 104.6 RTL is preparing for a major generational shift: long-time Programme Director and morning show host Arno Müller has announced that he will hand over the moderation of Arno und die Morgencrew (Arno and the morning crew) in summer 2026. After three and a half decades of hosting one of Germany’s most influential morning radio shows, Arno Müller is ready to pass on the microphone.

He says: “There are personal aspirations that don't really fit into the tightly scheduled morning radio show. I want to make room for those in the future. That's why now is the right time for me to pass on the responsibility. This also means handing over my show to someone who can handle it. We're now looking for someone with their own style, the right experience and outstanding commitment to give 104.6 RTL's morning show a fresh new look.”

The search for that successor begins immediately and applications are being accepted via the RTL career website.

Marc Haberland, Managing Director of the RTL Audio Center Berlin, adds: “Arno's decision marks the beginning of the next chapter for 104.6 RTL. The open call for applications for his successor is a strategic move. We communicate in the same way we make radio: boldly, confidently and innovatively. The search for a successor is now underway within the radio, audio and media industry.”

Arno Müller will continue hosting the morning show until the handover in mid 2026 and will actively accompany the transition. Through the end of 2026, he will focus on passing on his responsibilities as Programme Director. A tribute to his decades-long contribution to 104.6 RTL will follow after his departure in 2026.
