Fremantle partners with AlterEgo
Fremantle has signed a first-look partnership with Italian production company AlterEgo to develop a slate of original films and dramas.

Founded by Stefano Sollima, Gina Gardini and Ludovico Purgatori, AlterEgo is the production company behind the successful feature film Adagio. The film, which was produced in partnership with Fremantle’s The Apartment, had its world premiere screening in competition at the 80th Venice Film Festival. Moreover, the film received five nominations at the 69th David di Donatello Awards and won the award for ‘Best Score.’

AlterEgo is currently in post-production for the TV drama Il Mostro, directed by Stefano Sollima, for Netflix and again produced with The Apartment. The AlterEgo team will work closely together with Fremantle’s Group COO & CEO Continental Europe Andrea Scrosati and CEO Global Drama Christian Vesper.

Andrea Scrosati, Group COO & CEO Continental Europe at Fremantle, says: “I have had the immense privilege of working with Stefano for over 15 years, he is an incredible talent. His unique vision makes him one of the best directors globally, capable of creating some of the most intense and credible scenes on-screen, and on top of this, he is truly a wonderful person.

I also had the pleasure of working with Gina on many projects, and she is a force of nature, passionate and strong in her producing skills. And finally, I look forward to work more with Ludovico, another real talent in the industry. I feel honoured that Stefano, Gina and Ludovico have chosen to join forces with Fremantle. I have no doubts that together we will create something pretty special.”

Stefano Sollima, Gina Gardini and Ludovico Purgatori add: “We’re thrilled to enter a first-look deal with the international powerhouse Fremantle, a company that has fostered the growth of creative talent around the globe. After the fantastic collaboration on our first two projects, we can't wait to get started on the next adventure with Andrea Scrosati and all his team.”

The first-look deal with AlterEgo comes just a week after Fremantle announced another multi-year first-look partnership with Nevermind Pictures, the production company from filmmaker and Academy Award-nominated filmmaker and actor Kristen Stewart, screenwriter Dylan Meyer and producer Maggie McLean.
