RTL Deutschland celebrated a double win at this year’s prestigious Weißer Elefant (White Elephant) Children’s Media Awards. The hit series Neue Geschichten vom Pumuckl (Pumuckl’s New Adventures) and the initiative Toggo Radio gibt dir eine Stimme! (Toggo Radio Gives You a Voice!) both took home top honours in their categories.

Presented by Medien-Club München since 2001, the Weißer Elefant recognises outstanding productions for children and young people.

🏆TV/Streaming category: Neue Geschichten vom Pumuckl  

Produced by Neuesuper for RTL, the series combines nostalgia with modern storytelling, lovingly recreating the workshop’s charm while introducing fresh humour and heart. Florian Brückner stars as Meister Eder’s nephew, while Maximilian Schafroth gives voice to Pumuckl, digitally transformed through AI to echo the unmistakable tones of original actor Hans Clarin.

The production’s attention to detail and creative innovation earned well-deserved recognition, with awards for Florian Brückner and Head Writer Korbinian Dufter.  

A second season and a feature film – Pumuckl und das große Missverständnis (Pumuckl and the Great Misunderstanding) – are already in production.

🏆 Audio/Radio/Podcast category: Toggo Radio gibt dir eine Stimme! 

With the week-long initiative held during the German federal election, Toggo Radio invited children to help shape democracy through playful, thought-provoking conversations. 

Young listeners’ questions, ideas and opinions were woven throughout the programmes, shared across radio, TV, online and the app. Jannik Stein accepted the award on behalf of the Toggo Radio editorial team.
