Since its launch in May 2024, M6+, which replaced the previous service 6play as the company’s AVOD (advertising-based video on demand) platform, has won over French audiences. The streaming service of Groupe M6, has attracted more than 51 million users since its launch, illustrating its strong foothold in digital usage.
The first year of the streaming service has shown an increase of 26 per cent in daily users, while viewing has risen by 30 per cent, demonstrating the appeal of the content offered on the streaming platform. M6+ reached a historic milestone in March 2025, when the platform recorded 29 million unique users over the month, including a peak audience figure on 5 March with 3.6 million unique users.
More than 10 million downloads have been recorded for the M6+ app, half of these being on Connected TVs (CTVs). CTVs are central to the platform’s strategy, with viewing time on CTVs being 60 per cent higher than on other devices. The audience of the streaming platform is also significantly younger than those of its competitors. On average, M6+ users are nine years younger than users of the other major free streaming platforms in France.
M6+ is operating on the technology from the streaming technology company Bedrock, which is owned by both RTL Group and Groupe M6.
