RTL City marked a double milestone as colleagues, public figures and partners came together for the 20th Télévie Challenge – celebrating 25 years of Télévie in Luxembourg with energy, solidarity and record-breaking kilometres.
On Friday 13 March 2026, from 12:00 to 19:00, RTL City transformed once again into a vibrant spinning arena for the 20th edition of the Télévie Challenge. This milestone event marked not only two decades of the challenge itself, but also celebrated 25 years of Télévie in Luxembourg.
Throughout the day, 23 teams took turns on the spinning bikes, showing incredible energy and commitment in support of cancer research. Colleagues from across the company joined forces in a spirit of solidarity and determination. By the end of the challenge, the teams had collectively covered 4,295 kilometres on the bikes, resulting in a final sum of €60,000 donated by RTL Group for Télévie.
Seven sports coaches were present throughout the day to motivate and guide the participants. Their enthusiasm, encouragement, and professional advice helped everyone push their limits, whether seasoned athletes or first-time participants.
DJ Marc, as every year, kept the energy high from start to finish, ensuring there was never a dull moment. This year, a photobooth was available on site, allowing everyone to capture and remember this special anniversary edition. A make-up and glitter booth added an extra sparkle to the day, helping participants fully embrace the celebratory mood.
The event also welcomed several Luxembourgish politicians, artists and athletes, whose presence further highlighted the importance of Télévie and the collective commitment to the cause.
Among the participants were Björn Bauer, CFO of RTL Group, Christophe Goossens, CEO of RTL Luxembourg and BCE, alongside the Luxembourgish politicians Max Hahn and Martine Hansen, and the winner of the Luxembourg Song Contest, Eva Marija.
As tradition dictates, the sporting effort concluded with RTL’s annual pasta party, as an opportunity for everyone to unwind, connect, and celebrate together after an intense and meaningful day.
Christophe Goossens, CEO of RTL Luxembourg and BCE, says: “The 20th edition of the Télévie Challenge is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together. Beyond the fundraising, it reflects our collective commitment to supporting cancer research and making a positive impact. We are proud to see colleagues across RTL once again coming together for this important cause. Supporting Télévie has become a meaningful tradition for us, and we are proud to contribute again this year.”
Diane Wunsch, Télévie coordinator in Luxembourg, says: “This edition of the Télévie Challenge was a truly powerful experience. Seeing so many people come together with such energy and solidarity to support cancer research was genuinely inspiring. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for this remarkable outpouring of solidarity."

Télévie is a charitable operation organised in Belgium by the RTL-TVI channel since 1989 to support the Fund for Scientific Research. The aim of the charity is to raise funds for cancer and leukaemia research. Each year, the charity ends with a live gala evening broadcast on TV and radio by RTL-TVI, Bel RTL and RTL Luxembourg’s channels. Since 2001, the Kiwanis Luxembourg Foundation has been Télévie's exclusive partner in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. In 2002, RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg joined the initiative and began organising a major closing evening alongside the Belgian channel RTL-TVI. In 2012, a partnership agreement was concluded between the Kiwanis Luxembourg Foundation and Télévie Luxembourg. The Télévie Challenge brings together employees, politicians and athletes who pedal on indoor exercise bikes to accumulate as many kilometres as possible. For ever kilometre recorded, RTL Group pledges a donation to the Télévie association. The first Télévie Spinning Challenge in Luxembourg took place in 2005. Since then, colleagues from all RTL Group entities have helped raise over €1 million for cancer and leukaemia research. |
