Poor Things, the award-winning film from Fremantle’s Element Pictures, is nominated for ‘Best Picture’ and ten further awards at the 96th Academy Awards

Poor Things is the comedy-fantasy masterpiece from Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos that everyone is talking about. After winning The Golden Lion award – one of the most prestigious prizes in the film industry – at last year’s Venice Film Festival and picking up two Golden Globes – ‘Best Motion Picture’ and ‘Best Female Actor’ for Emma Stone – this month, Poor Things has now been nominated for an outstanding 11 Oscars.

  • Best Actress – Emma Stone
  • Best Supporting Actor – Mark Ruffalo
  • Best Adapted Screenplay – Tony McNamara
  • Best Production Design – James Price, Shona Heath, Zsuzsa Mihalek
  • Best Film Editing – Yorgos Mavropsaridis
  • Best Costume Design – Holly Waddington
  • Best Original Score – Jerskin Fendrix
  • Best Cinematography – Robbie Ryan
  • Best Makeup & Hair – Nadia Stacey, Mark Coulier, Josh Weston

With a total of 13 nominations, only Oppenheimer was nominated for more Oscars than Poor Things. The 96th Academy Awards will be announced on 10 March during a ceremony in California. Poor Things has also received 11 nominations for the upcoming BAFTA Film Awards, which will be announced in London on 18 February.
