RTL Deutschland completes office move in Hamburg
After months of intensive construction and preparation, RTL Deutschland’s move to HafenCity in Hamburg has been completed on schedule.

As announced in May 2023, all RTL Deutschland employees in Hamburg were to move to a new office space. In January 2025, the move to Koreastraße was completed on schedule, meaning that all 1,500 employees of RTL Deutschland, including the subsidiaries Ad Alliance, Gruner + Jahr, DPV and RTL News (Stern+), are now working in the heart of Hamburg's HafenCity.

The move took place in two stages, with the editorial team of Stern+ being the first one to move into the new office in spring 2024. Now the editorial teams of Gruner + Jahr's core brands and the other divisions have followed suit and are also located at Koreastraße 7.

Ingrid Heisserer, Chief Financial & Chief Human Resources Officer at RTL Deutschland, says: “We are very pleased that the move from Baumwall to our new location on Koreastraße went so smoothly and according to plan. By deciding on the new building, we are clearly committing ourselves to Hamburg as a media location and are pleased to be able to offer our employees a new, modern, flexible and well-connected home port where they can feel completely comfortable.”

The eight-storey brick building was completed in 2016 and features a landscaped inner courtyard, bright and modern spaces, lounge areas, a canteen and flexible office areas which allow for hybrid work. RTL Deutschland is the main tenant of an area of around 17,200 square metres. The total area of the building is just under 17,600 square metres, of which four retail units on the ground floor are leased to other businesses. The building is sustainable, environmentally friendly and is certified in the "gold" category by Umweltzeichen HafenCity (HafenCity Ecolabel), the first building certificate for sustainable construction in Germany.

The building was designed by Berlin-based architects Gewers Pudewill and has already won several awards. The lease for the new building at Koreastraße 7 has been signed for a term of ten years.
