Golden Lion, shining stars: Fremantle dazzles in Venice
The Apartment productions claimed the Golden Lion for Father Mother Sister Brother, the Coppa Volpi for ‘Best Actor’ for Toni Servillo in La Grazia, and ‘Best Actress’ for Benedetta Porcaroli in The Kidnapping of Arabella.

Fremantle celebrated a remarkable evening at the 82nd Venice Film Festival, with three productions from its Italian label The Apartment taking home prestigious awards – including the festival’s top prize. 

  • Golden Lion for ‘Best Film’Father Mother Sister Brother, directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring an ensemble cast including Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Adam Driver, Mayim Bialik, Tom Waits, Charlotte Rampling, Indya Moore and Luka Sabbat.

  • Coppa Volpi for ‘Best Actor’: Toni Servillo for his performance in Paolo Sorrentino’s La Grazia.

  • ‘Best Actress’ (Orizzonti section): Benedetta Porcaroli for her role as Holly in Carolina Cavalli’s The Kidnapping of Arabella.

The awarded films were among six Fremantle-backed titles premiering at the festival, alongside BugoniaIl Mostro and Portobello.
