In the latest episode of RTL stories – The podcast, Isabell Ostermann, Senior Director Brand Management and Communications at RTL Group, discusses the RTL United rebranding project and balancing motherhood.
“Entertainment has always been at the heart of RTL, and that’s really what we wanted to express with RTL United,” says Isabell as she talks about the biggest rebranding project in the history of RTL. In the conversation with presenter Lisa Burke, she emphasises the importance of creating a consistent brand experience across all touchpoints.
In addition to her professional achievements, Isabell opens up about the challenges of balancing her career with motherhood. She talks about her experience of returning to work after the birth of her daughter and the importance of having a supportive team and employer.
“Being a working mom or dad is a juggle, but it’s also about mindset and communication,” Isabell says. She highlights the need for flexibility and understanding in the workplace, especially for parents navigating the demands of both their professional and personal lives.
Isabell also delves into the essence of good branding, highlighting the importance of consistency: “Everyone working at RTL is a brand ambassador and should ensure that the brand is presented in the best way possible. It’s the most important asset we own and it's in everyone's responsibility. You can have lots of guidelines, but it's the people that need to make them work as well.”
