Jean-Baptiste Moggio, Senior Brand Director at RTL AdAlliance, delves into his decade-long journey with the company and the dynamic world of international advertising.
In the latest episode of RTL stories – The podcast, Lisa Burke spoke to branding and marketing expert Jean-Baptiste Moggio – or JB, as most colleagues know him. Based in Paris, JB joined the RTL universe more than 10 years ago.
In the interview, JB recounts how the company, called IP Network back then, evolved from a family-like business to a significant player in the international advertising arena. “We jumped from 40 employees to more than 100. (…) I really feel like I've been in three different companies over these past 10 years”, he says.
Jean-Baptise also discusses cultural differences in marketing across various European countries. He provides an example of working with Dutch colleagues, who prefer a direct and time-efficient communication style. “For me as a Dutch, I’m shocked if you spend three, four lines asking how I am when you write me an email. Be straight to the point, please,” JB quotes a colleague, contrasting this with the more personal approach common in France and Italy.
JB also talks about the role of data in modern advertising, RTL Beach, where AI was a hot topic this year, and TV Key Facts, another important event for RTL AdAlliance, RTL Group’s international advertising sales house.
