A renewed partnership
Big names and strong films: RTL Deutschland and Constantin Film have announced the extension of their strategic partnership.

RTL Deutschland has had an ongoing collaboration with Constantin Film, one of Germany's most important producers of TV and film content, since September 2021. The long-standing and successful partnership is set to continue, with the existing framework agreement being renewed to encompass exclusive distribution rights for nearly all national and international original and co-productions from Constantin Film.

This new agreement not only strengthens the strategic partnership between the two media powerhouses but also reaffirms their shared commitment to making high-quality fictional content accessible to a wide audience – both on free-to-air TV and through RTL Deutschland’s streaming service RTL+.

Inga Leschek, Chief Content Officer of RTL Deutschland, says: "Our collaboration with Constantin Film has stood for strong stories and great cinematic experiences on all screens for years. We are excited to continue this success story and to offer our viewers exclusive access to the best German and international productions in the future. With the renewed partnership between RTL Deutschland and Constantin Film, we not only secure exclusive content but also build together towards a strong future for storytelling made in Europe. This is living content power."

Oliver Berben, CEO of Constantin Film, adds: “The collaboration with RTL Deutschland is special to me because it gives us the freedom to produce the films we want to make. Without the support of such a strong partner like RTL Deutschland, this would not be possible. The agreement is a win for all of us: RTL Deutschland gains exclusive access to our productions, we strengthen our production business in the long term, and most importantly, viewers benefit from high-quality content that entertains and is relevant.”

Upcoming film highlights from this collaboration include Michael Bully Herbig’s highly anticipated comedy Das Kanu des Manitu (The canoe of Manitou), a reboot of the cult comedy Mädchen Mädchen (Girls Girls) and an ambitious new adaptation of Momo directed by Christian Ditter. Additional productions in the pipeline are Die Ältern (The Parents), All das Ungesagte zwischen uns – Regretting You (All the unsaid things between us – Regretting you), Athos 2643, a reboot of Resident Evil, as well as a new film from successful director Bora Dagtekin.

Constantin Film and its subsidiaries have a long history of producing high-quality film and television entertainment in collaboration with RTL Deutschland, including recent projects like the film Hagen – im Tal der Nibelungen (Hagen – in the valley of the Nibelungs) and the series Die Nibelungen: Kampf der Königreiche (The Nibelungs: Battle of the Kingdoms).
