The finale took place on Sunday 4 February, during which Lucy Diakovska – a Bulgarian singer and member of the former German pop band No Angels – was crowned the new queen of the jungle. After attracting large audience shares throughout the season, the final episode of Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus! (I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!) was watched by a total of 4.49 million viewers, representing a total audience share of 29.4 per cent. In the commercial target group of 14- to 59-year-olds, the audience share was 39.6 per cent and in the 14-49 target group, the share was 45.4 per cent.* With these figures, the episode achieved the largest audience share in the 14-49 target group on Sunday television, and was more successful than last year’s finale in both target groups.
In the week before the finale, the survival reality show was also a hit on streaming. According to new data, which uses programme brands to report the total usage of a specific format via TV and streaming for one week, the non-linear streaming net reach of the Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus! (IBES) brand was 1.79 million from 22 to 28 January 2024. Across TV and streaming, IBES reached a total of 27.86 million viewers.**
The finale’s aftershow, Die Stunde danach (The after hour), achieved two new season bests on Sunday 4 February: A 35.1 per cent audience share in the 14-59 target group and a 40.3 per cent audience share in the 14-49 target group. During the show, presenters Olivia Jones and Angela Finger-Erben were joined by special guests to discuss the new queen of the jungle.
To mark the 20th anniversary of IBES, the Dschungelcamp will be returning to screens in late summer 2024. For the first time, Showdown der Dschungel-Legenden (Showdown of the jungle stars) will bring together former participants from previous seasons. Presenters Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen announced the news during Das große Wiedersehen (The big reunion) on 5 February 2024: “After 20 years on air, 12 former jungle stars are daring to go on the adventure of their lives again – this time in South Africa. We can already reveal two names: Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen. We wouldn’t miss it for the world!”
