On 11 January 2025, RTL Deutschland will broadcast the documentary Unser Team – Die Heim-EM 2024 (Our team – The 2024 European Championship in Germany) on RTL and RTL+. The film offers an intimate look into the German national team’s journey during the Uefa Euro 2024, which RTL Deutschland broadcast in partnership with Deutsche Telekom, generating record audiences across linear TV and streaming.

Filmed for 40 days, the documentary shows the remarkable transformation of the DFB (German Football Association) team under head coach Julian Nagelsmann, capturing emotional moments from the training camp and locker room. It also shows how the team, driven by unity and passion, aimed for the championship title on home soil.

Through exclusive interviews and authentic insights into the players’ emotions, the documentary captures how the stars handled the pressure of a home championship, how Julian Nagelsmann forged a close-knit team, and how football-loving Germany responded to the new spirit of the national team. It features unique fan moments from various parts of society, including a football evening in a women’s prison, a visit to a Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) base in Lithuania, and a solitary lighthouse on the East Frisian coast in Northwestern Europe.
