Fremantle launches Master of the Game
Fremantle partnered with TF1 in France to launch original psychological reality format Master of the Game.

In Master of the Game, twelve celebrities team up to become the ultimate sleuths. Drawn by a cryptic invitation and the promise of a cash prize, the team must work together to separate fact from fiction and ultimately uncover who is the elusive Master of the Game. The mission is deceptively straightforward: the Master, who is orchestrating the entire experience, has secretly recruited one contestant as an accomplice to mislead the others.

The brand-new format, which premiered on TF1 in France on 11 October 2024, will also be sold to international markets. Fremantle produced the series for TF1 and will handle international production and distribution.

Andrew Llinares, Director of Global Entertainment at Fremantle, says: “It has been a pleasure to team up with TF1 alongside our brilliant team in France to produce and develop this epic and innovative new format. Master of the Game is a fresh take on the psychological reality genre, which promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as they play along at home –with lots of shocking twists and turns as the celebrity investigators get to work on a range of innovative and immersive challenges to uncover the identity of the Master. We can’t wait for the first adaption to premiere in France and look forward to launching the format in other international markets.”

The format balances cooperation with competition – contestants must solve puzzles and tackle immersive challenges to uncover clues. Dramatic settings such as the ‘Room of 100 Faces’ – a gallery of celebrity portraits serving as potential suspects – give Master of the Game an investigative edge, while each episode culminates in a tense voting ceremony. Here, the group eliminates a suspected accomplice and questions the Master, in order to piece together the clues and finally determine: Who is the Master of the Game?
