Jan Peter Lacher has been promoted to Senior Vice President (SVP) Content & Business Development in RTL Group’s Corporate Centre, effective 1 February 2025. In this wider role, he will continue to foster internal collaboration in areas such as content sourcing and production, AI strategy and deployment as well as partnerships with external creatives and production companies. This now also includes the coordination of the Group’s SyCos. In addition, he will take over business development responsibilities such as market analysis and research and contribute to long term strategic planning. Stefan Kramer, previously Head of Strategy & Business Development at RTL Group, has joined We Are Era on 1 February 2025 as Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Development.

In his new role, Jan Peter Lacher will report to Elmar Heggen, Deputy CEO & COO of RTL Group.

Jan Peter Lacher started his career at RTL Deutschland in 2000 as Executive Assistant to the Head of Programming at the flagship channel RTL. Since then, he has held various executive positions in the areas of programming, strategy and transformation. He was also responsible for the successful launch of the linear TV channels Nitro and RTL Up. In February 2019, he was appointed RTL Deutschland’s Executive Vice President (EVP) Programme Strategy & Planning, followed by Chief Planning & Cooperations Officer and Head of Transformation Office in March 2021. From April 2022 to July 2023, he was Chief Transformation Officer at RTL Deutschland. On 1 August 2023, he joined RTL Group’s Corporate Centre as SVP Content. Jan Peter has a degree in Film and Television Production from the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Potsdam, Germany.
